A practical restoration process

Every loss is different, but the work starts with the same fundamentals: understand the conditions, protect what can be saved and document the path back to a usable property.

01 · Assess
A coordinator gathers the first details, then the site team inspects the affected area, identifies visible hazards and uses moisture or thermal-imaging tools when they are appropriate. We explain the proposed scope, required resources and expected next steps before work proceeds.
02 · Protect and move
Salvageable furniture and contents may be moved, inventoried or packed out when the work requires it. Items that remain are protected or blocked so the team can work safely around them and reduce avoidable secondary damage.
03 · Clean, dry and restore
Depending on the loss, the agreed work may include water extraction and controlled drying, fire and smoke cleaning, odour treatment, mold containment or repairs. Methods and products are selected for the affected materials and site conditions.
04 · Document and coordinate
Technicians record site conditions, readings and completed work as the project develops. Estimators can prepare Xactimate scopes and support property owners, managers and adjusters with project documentation. Insurers remain responsible for coverage decisions and claim approvals.

The CT Restore advantage

Our published company materials emphasize a combination of trained people, restoration equipment and organized documentation. In practice, that means the following:

Restoration-focused training
Field assignments are matched to technicians with relevant training in water, structural drying, fire and smoke, microbial remediation, carpet cleaning, odour control and job-site safety.
Moisture diagnostics
Moisture meters and infrared imaging can help investigate concealed water migration behind finishes and below flooring. Findings are interpreted alongside a physical inspection rather than relying on a single instrument.
Drying and dehumidification resources
Air movers, dehumidifiers, extraction equipment and monitoring tools can be configured around the size and conditions of a water loss. Equipment availability, delivery and setup are confirmed for each project.
Contents and claim documentation
Inventory, photographs, readings and detailed estimating can help organize a proof-of-loss discussion and keep property teams and adjusters working from the same information. Learn more about our insurance and adjuster support.
Cleaning and odour-control options
Cleaning agents and odour-control methods are chosen according to the source, affected material and occupied environment. The recommended method is reviewed with the client before treatment.
Support for complex properties
The workflow is designed for homes as well as condominiums, commercial spaces and multi-unit losses where access, occupants, building systems and multiple stakeholders must be coordinated.
